OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Below is a list of our terms and conditions, these need to be read and understood prior to hiring out one of our camper's as any breach of these terms, of any nature, could lead to the loss of your security deposit or a breach with the camper's insurance terms could lead to you being incorrectly covered which in turn is a criminal offence.

All overnight camping MUST be on a verified campsite.

1. Collection & Return a Camper

  • Your camper will be available to collect from us at 4pm onwards on your chosen day of hire. PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR FULL UK DRIVING LICENSE (CARD AND PAPER PART), SECOND PROOF OF ADDRESS AND CREDIT/DEBIT CARD FOR SECURITY DEPOSIT. 

  • You must return the camper before 11am on your return date.

  • If for any reason you think you're going to be late in returning the camper then you must contact us immediately as any failure to do so would mean you are driving the camper uninsured which may give rise to your prosecution. All late returns will be charged an additional £25 an hour which will be deducted from your security deposit.

2. Driver requirements

  • Drivers must be between the ages of 25-75 years and must have held a full UK driving license for at least 2 years. We reserve the right to refuse the hire of the camper to any driver we see unfit without any explanation.

  • Each driver of the camper must also provide us with 2 forms of identification which must be two of the following:

     -Utility bill

-Bank statement

-Credit card statement

-Mortgage statement

-Council tax bill

(Address must match the driving license address and is dated within the 3 months before hire commencement.)

  • Drivers will be held personally liable for any and all legal penalties (Eg: Fines, charges or illegal activities) which are incurred during the period of hire.

3. Insurance

  • The camper is comprehensively insured which covers the van. The Gas equipment has a Landlord Gas Certificate which is included in our hire costs.

  • The driver must be a minimum of 25 years old in order to be insured to drive the camper.

  • A standard excess of £1500 (£1600 for Tan) is payable in the event of any accident damage to either the vehicle or third party property. This also applies to the loss or damage to the campers equipment, fixtures and fittings. Sunset camper hire are not under any circumstances responsible for the damage, loss or theft of the hirer's personal possessions. 

  • Repair costs which are less than the insurance excess will be invoiced directly to the hirer. An insurance claim will only be made if the total repair costs exceeds £1500 (£1600 for Tan)

4. Breakdown

  • In the event of a breakdown you must contact us immediately and our chosen breakdown company whose details are provided in the campervan.

  • While every effort has been made to ensure that our campers are in road worthy condition we cannot accept liability for accommodation charges or replacement vehicle costs of any claims arising from breakdown, accident or other causes.

5. Accidents

  • In the event of an accident you must inform us within 24 hours.

  • Any theft, road traffic accident or damage to third party property arising out of your use of the vehicle must be reported by you to the local police. Names, addresses and contact telephone numbers for any and all third parties and witnesses must be obtained by you even if the matter appears to be straight forward or the damage minimal.

  • By signing this agreement, you undertake to assist us and our representatives in handling any claims arising from any accident, incident or event occurring while the vehicle is in your care. Including but not limited to the completion of any report forms, witness statements and interviews by our representatives or their agents and attending court to provide evidence.

6. Security deposit

  • We require credit/debit card details to be held prior to release of the camper, NO MONIES SHALL BE TAKEN. This act's as a security deposit. The card details will be held until were satisfied the camper and it's equipment are returned on time and in good condition, whole and undamaged.

  • If this is not the case then repair, replacement and cleaning costs will be deducted from the card up to the value of £500. Should the damage to the van and it's equipment exceed the security deposit you will be liable for settling these additional costs.

7. Fuel/Mileage

  • Your camper will be provided with enough Unleaded Petrol or Diesel to take you to the local Cornwall Services on the A30 and must be returned likewise.

  • The mileage on all of our campers is limited to 750 miles, additional miles added on return are charged at         £0.50p per mile. We do ask to you to stay within Cornwall, Devon, Somerset or Dorset.

8. Gas

  • Gas is provided for the cooker and we will meet the costs of 1 additional cylinder of gas on production of a valid VAT receipt, providing it's the correct size and make.

9. Payment

  • A booking is only confirmed once a non-refundable booking deposit of 25% of total hire cost has been received.

  • The balance of the hire charges must then be paid at least 6 weeks before hire commences, if not received your booking could be cancelled and your booking deposit won't be returned.

  • Should booking occur within 6 weeks of the date that hire is due to commence then the full hire charges will be payable upon booking.

  • A confirmation email will be sent once the booking deposit and/or the complete balance has been paid in full.

  • We accept payment through credit card, bank transfer or cheque.

10. Cancellation

  • Should you cancel your booking prior to 6 weeks before hire commences you will receive 50% of the booking deposit back.

  • Should cancellation occur within 6 weeks of the date that hire is due to commence you will lose the full amount of the hire charges.

11. Smoking

  • Smoking of any kind is band in or near our campers. There will be a deduction from your security deposit should there be evidence of smoking having taken place within the vehicle upon it's return to us.

12. Pets

  • As much as we love animals some people don't so no animals are allowed in our campers.

13. Customer parking

  • Parking will be provided for one vehicle however Sunset camper hire cannot except any responsibility for the loss of or damage to the vehicle or it's contents however caused.

14. Modifications to campervan

  • You will not make any modifications of any kind to the camper's exterior, interior, mechanical or electrical items or accessories without our prior consent.

15. Ending the hire agreement

  • We may end this agreement and take back the vehicle from you at any time for any reason and without notice. Such reasons may include but are not limited to the following:

- If any part of this agreement is found to have been breached by you.

- If you are found to have miss-represented yourself or your circumstances in providing information to us relating to the hire deliberately or in ignorance of the facts.

-If the vehicle is discovered abandoned.

- If the vehicle is not returned to us on the agreed date or we have reason to believe that it will not be returned to us on the agreed date.

-If we consider that there is reasonable cause to believe that the vehicle is being used in an unsafe or dangerous manner.

  • Should this agreement be ended early for such a reason you will be entitled to NO refund of any part of the hire charges or security deposit from us.

16. Ownership of the camper

  • You acknowledge that we continue to hold the title to the camper and that you act as the hirer only.

  • You will not offer or attempt to offer to sell, lend, hire or assign of any part of the vehicle and it's accessories or this agreement to any party of any kind.

17. Location of hire

  • The camper must remain within the UK at all times during your hire period.

18. This agreement

  • When hiring our camper, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions and will abide by them at all times.

  • Please respect our Campers as if they where your own.
